Everyone is always looking for hacks and shortcuts.

The truth is...there are no shortcuts.

There is only things that you do and things that you do not do.

It comes down to how much action you are willing to take.

The biggest habit hack one can use is breaking down habits into bite-size pieces. Instead of trying to go from A to Z in one shot, try just going from A to B.

Whichever successful habit you are trying to build, start small. Build up the muscles to sustain the new habit.

For this week, we have fellow podcaster, Eric Zimmer from “The One You Feed” Rated one of the top podcast of 2014.

The name of the podcast could sound a bit confusing, but let me reassure you, it has a cool origin story.

It is based off a Buddhist parable that you will hear me go through with him in the first few minutes.

Eric first heard it in a recovery setting, and he shares with us his learning journey from then to the entrepreneur he is today.

He has since interviewed some of my heroes and prominent names that I reference all the time, Simon Sinek, Bob Proctor, Chris Guillebeau, Lewis Howes just to name a few.

Eric happens to own a meditation practice as well as coaches others in business so we do cover some diverse topics throughout this short episode.

In the episode, he shares stories and insights about how we can be more present, how to proactively solve our own issues and how we can change our habits.

This might be a short one, but it is filled with tons of actionable steps that you can use TODAY and you guys will hear that within the first few minutes.

How To Be World-Class.

It is what a lot of individuals want for their careers, their passions, their respective sport, but why is it that only so very few are world-class.

The answer comes down to the fact on whether or not you believe you are world class right now.

I am not talking about tomorrow or when you finally have "X" amount of money in the bank. I am talking about right now.

Are you world class right this minute?

Because counter-intuitive to what most believe, everything starts with that belief of being world-class today.

This week, I thought I would do something differently as I come to you live from the roof of a hotel in the Bay Area.

The episode this week featured Chris Thomson, CEO of Student Works. During the episode, he mentioned that his favourite word is "willingness." It means that you will do whatever it takes to get it done.

It can represent a goal, a dream or in this case, my podcast episode / video.

How willing are you to do what it takes? To wake up early? To out-hustle others? To put it all on the line?

This week, we have an awesome entrepreneur, and one of my first mentors, Chris Thompson. Chris Thomson is the CEO of Student Works Painting

They recruit, train and support 150 student business owners to paint over 6,000 homes every summer.

He was the tenth student that ran a business with Student Works in 1984 and excelled to the point that he bought the company outright in 1993

In the episode, he shares his stories throughout the years of working with young students and first-time entrepreneurs. Their mistakes and what makes some of them succeed over the rest of their class.

He says running his program is like running a private school for super charged students and future changemakers.

“Their mantra is that “Excellence is a habit” and he even goes through the 4 refer-ability habits which anyone can take note and do in their life.

Chris is one of the coolest entrepreneurs that I have had the opportunity to learn from and I am glad we recorded this to give everyone some actionable steps to achieve greatness in your life.

This episode is packed with goodies as it covers all sorts of topics surround lifestyle design, success, mindset and entrepreneurship.

Do you want to have greater influence in your life? Do you want to be able to persuade others and have superior social skills?

How? The answer is foundationally set on how you own your story. Do you embrace your flaws? how about your failures? Showing your own vulnerabilities and being an authentic person.

That is the beginning of influence.
